Description of the Senior Division

Our pre-teen and teen-aged players are organized into teams of fourteen to eighteen and are staffed by a parent volunteer head coach, and one or more assistant coaches.  In this age group, the players should know the full FIFA Laws of the Game and demonstrate the ability to apply them effectively in matches.  Advanced ball mastery is emphasized, multi-player and line team play taught.  Tactics are developed as they pertain to different systems of play.  Lots of touches on the ball are always encouraged.  These teams train one night a week for ninety minutes, with the parent volunteer coaches, supplemented and directed by a professional trainer from Challenger Sports.  They play eleven versus eleven on full sized regulation soccer fields.  The goals used are full-sized in this age group  Licensed three-referee systems, paid by JCSA, are used to officiate matches.  They usually play at the Berry Lane turf field on Saturdays.  Time is dependent on field availability.  A size five soccer ball is used.  Players are provided a uniform and are insured by JCSA.  Parents are expected to provide shin guards,  soccer cleats and water for every session.  We recommend that every player have their own ball, but coaches will provide them at training and matches.
