Over the weekend, the JCSA Strikers finished first in the boys 2007/White division at the EDP Fall Classic. The squad emerged on top after two days of competition at the Tuckahoe Turf Farms in Hammonton, NJ. The Jersey City Strikers finished first in its group, and then defeated Atletico FC 4-1 in the final.
JC Strikers began the tournament with a 2-1 win against Union County FC/WSA UCFC on Saturday. In their second game on Saturday, the Strikers defeated Ironbound SC by a score of 2-0. On Sunday, the team concluded group play with a tough loss of 1-2 against FC Dutchmen Celtic. With a 2-0-1 record in group play, JCSA advanced to the bracket championship game, where the JC Strikers earned a 4-1 win over Atletico FC to claim the title. The tournament, which was organized by EDP, included a total 900 games played over two days - November 16th to 17th. The Fall Classic is regularly one of the most popular events in the East Region for boys and girls ages 8U to 19U and is among the 30 largest youth soccer events in the nation.
